Imperial War Museum at Duxford which began as an airfield in the First World War and is now home to one of the finest collection of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country. New Hall Vineyards is a 67 hectare English Vineyard is one of the oldest and biggest English Wine Producer in the Country and was first established in Essex by the Greenwood family in the village of Purleigh in 1969. RHS Garden Hyde Hall offers stunning horticultural gardens with many events taking place throughout the year.
Ideally situated beside the magnificent sandy beaches, there are wonderfully restored themed gardens, bowling greens, two theatres, golf course and a Sports and Leisure Centre. Clacton Carnival and Jazz Festival in the high season, Clacton Shopping Village, a major factory outlet shopping village opened in 1998, a vibrant Victorian pier, leisure centre, sport on land and water, and a lively nightlife, or dine and relaxing as you would expect from a major English seaside resort.
